Gabriel Villamonte of Plattsmouth is the Nebraska High School Football Player of the Week

Senior quarterback threw for five touchdowns in win over Mount Michael Benedictine.

After receiving nearly 6,500 votes, Gabe Villamonte of Plattsmouth has earned MaxPreps Nebraska High School Football Player of the Week honors.

Villamonte, a senior quarterback, was 13 of 15 for 210 yards and five touchdowns in a 41-7 win over Mount Michael Benedictine.

Here are the rest of this week's candidates:

Quinn Bailey, Chadron: Junior running back rushed for 195 yards and six touchdowns on 13 carries in a 49-0 win over Valentine.

Isak Doty, Sidney: Senior threw for 203 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for 155 yards and two more scores on 12 carries in a 42-35 win over Mitchell. On defense, Doty made nine tackles.

Jeremiah Gorham, Bryan (Omaha): Senior returned a kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown and scored on a 65-yard punt return in a 64-6 win over Buena Vista. Gorham also had a 50-yard interception return for 210 all-purpose yards.

Amarion Jackson, Millard South (Omaha): Sophomore caught eight passes for 122 yards and a pair of scores in a 38-7 win over Gretna.

Taylor Jacobs, Boys Town: Junior running back ran for 308 yards on 26 carries and three touchdowns while logging three tackles and an interception on defense in a 26-0 win over Falls City.



Merrick Johnson/Crew Meints, Beatrice: The Orangemen duo piled up 329 rushing yards and three touchdowns on a combined 50 carries in a 27-20 win over Lincoln Northwest. Johnson ran for 163 yards and a pair of scores while Meints gained 166 yards and a touchdown on 26 carries.

Payton Prestito, Papillion-LaVista (Papillion): Senior ran for 182 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 30 carries in a 28-14 win over Lincoln Southwest. 

Caden Rezac, Ogallala: Senior running back ran for 178 yards and four scores on 13 carries with adding a pair of tackles and an interception in a 38-28 win over Gering.

Drake Zimmerman, Ashland-Greenwood (Ashland): Senior running back ran for 207 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries and added a receiving touchdown in a 35-0 win over Auburn.
