Baseball Recap: High Tech SD Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact High Tech SD can now relate to. They fell just short of the Pioneer Titans by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Storm's defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Nano Acevedo was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in May. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

Acevedo wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Landon Carroll, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

High Tech SD's loss dropped their record down to 17-11. As for Pioneer, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a massive bump to their 19-14 record this season.

High Tech SD does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pioneer, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 4-3 victory against Corcoran on the 7th.
