Basketball Recap: Quitman Panthers vs. Forest Bearcats
It was a proper cat-fight when Quitman challenged Forest on Friday. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, the Quitman Panthers made off with a 41-40 win over the Forest Bearcats. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Quitman got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was JAHYLA DUBOSE out in front who went 6 for 12 en route to 15 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance also gave DUBOSE a new career-high in blocks (two). AIYANNA DEAR was another key player, putting up 15 points and five assists.
Quitman smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in five consecutive games.
Quitman has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. As for Forest, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-12.
