Baseball Game Preview: Heritage Patriots vs. Woodlan Warriors

The Heritage Patriots will square off against the Woodlan Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Heritage has ten straight victories, Woodlan has ten straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Heritage came out on top against Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive 11-run seventh inning. The Patriots put the hurt on the Braves with a sharp 13-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won seven matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Woodlan fell victim to DeKalb and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the Barons, falling 14-0.

Heritage's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Woodlan, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12.

Heritage was able to grind out a solid victory over Woodlan in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 3-0. Will the Patriots repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
