Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Geneva). They snuck past the Penn Yan Academy Mustangs with a 73-67 win on Friday. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 194th, while the Mustangs are ranked 701st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Geneva is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.6 points over those games. As for Penn Yan Academy, they dropped their record down to 1-15 with the loss, which was their eighth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Geneva will host Palmyra-Macedon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Penn Yan Academy, they will take on Midlakes at 7:30 p.m. on February 14th.
