Basketball Recap: Desert Heights Prep Starts off Right with Win over Phoenix Day School for the Deaf

Desert Heights Prep had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on the Phoenix Day School for the Deaf Roadrunners with a sharp 53-33 win on Monday. The Yote haven't had any issues with the Roadrunners recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Despite the loss, Phoenix Day School for the Deaf saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Zion Parker shot 57% from the field en route to 17 points and five steals.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Desert Heights Prep will venture away from home to challenge NFL Yet Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Phoenix Day School for the Deaf, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will square off against North Phoenix Preparatory Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
