Football Recap: Amherst County Falls to Sherando in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Amherst County kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They were dealt a 41-0 defeat at the hands of the Sherando Warriors. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Lancers have suffered since September 20, 2024.

Jaheim Jones threw for 34 yards. On the ground, Gary Tres Liggon Iii rushed for 42 yards.

Amherst County will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on George Washington at 7:00 p.m. on September 5. As for Sherando, they are headed away from home for the first time to square off against Loudoun County at 7:00 p.m. on September 5.
