Basketball Recap: Cristo Rey Takes a Loss

Cristo Rey was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 55-17 defeat at the hands of The Carmel School Wildcats. The Royals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

The Carmel School got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kedelin Santos out in front who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Santos has scored at least a third of The Carmel School's points. Clara Sirois was another key player, putting up 21 points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Cristo Rey's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for The Carmel School, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Cristo Rey has already played their next game (against Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. The Carmel School wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 49-16 win against St. Michael the Archangel on the 15th.
