Baseball Game Preview: Archbishop McNicholas Rockets vs. Holy Name Green Wave

The Archbishop McNicholas Rockets will square off against the Holy Name Green Wave at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last five games Archbishop McNicholas has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Monday, Archbishop McNicholas didn't have quite enough to beat Chaminade Julienne Catholic and fell 2-1.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Holy Name). They were the clear victors by a 14-6 margin over Solon on Saturday. The Green Wave not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since May 2, 2024 (when they won 15-6).

Harrison Frank looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Nick Nemeth, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mikey Tworzydlo, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Holy Name always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.

Holy Name's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Archbishop McNicholas, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4.
