Basketball Game Preview: Southwest Onslow Stallions vs. Eastern Randolph Wildcats

Having just played yesterday, the Southwest Onslow Stallions will jump right back in to play the Eastern Randolph Wildcats at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a five-game winning streak alive.

Southwest Onslow is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past James Kenan, posting an 88-58 win. Given the Stallions' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while the Tigers are ranked 361st), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Eastern Randolph against Trinity on Friday as the squad secured an 83-49 victory. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Wildcats just coasted through the last quarter.

Southwest Onslow better focus on containing Timothy Brower and Julian Brooks as the pair were huge in Eastern Randolph's win. Brower went 9 for 14 en route to 24 points, while Brooks went 8 of 11 on his way to 18 points and seven rebounds. Brower's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. William Stalker was another key player, putting up eight points and seven boards.

Southwest Onslow's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.0 points per game. As for Eastern Randolph, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.
