After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Harker Heights, Copperas Cove was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They skirted past the Shoemaker Wolves 30-27. For the Bulldawgs, this counts as revenge for the 30-12 victory the Wolves walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Shoemaker lost, don't look at Josiah ` Walker. Despite the final result, he rushed for 183 yards and one touchdown on only 15 carries. De'Mani Dail-Addison was another key player, rushing for 73 yards and one score.

Copperas Cove has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Shoemaker, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Copperas Cove is set to take on their familiar foe Temple at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Shoemaker will challenge rival Harker Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
