Baseball Recap: North Fork Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact North Fork can now relate to. They took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Peyton Panthers on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Miners of the 4-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2018.

Joe Hollembeak was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Mario Gama was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases.

North Fork's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Peyton, the victory was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 20-1.

As of now, neither North Fork nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
