Basketball Game Preview: Connersville Spartans vs. South Ripley Raiders

The Connersville Spartans will take on the South Ripley Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Connersville is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Batesville on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Connersville was dealt a 61-33 defeat at the hands of Batesville. The matchup marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Connersville's loss came about despite a quality game from Judd Garrett, who posted eight points. The dominant performance also gave Garrett a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Griffin Wilson, who earned seven points.

Meanwhile, South Ripley put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Milan 96-59. The Raiders' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

South Ripley pushed their record up to 15-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.8 points per game. As for Connersville, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-8.
