BATAVIA, Ohio -
Goshen (Ohio) jumped out to an early lead against
Amelia (Batavia, Ohio) and never looked back on the way to a 29-16 victory on Saturday.
The Warriors put up 15 points in the opening quarter. Goshen scored on a defensive touchdown and a touchdown pass by
Scotty Nichols to
Austin Parker.
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Nichols to Parker in the first quarter, GHS was up 22-16 at the half.
The Warriors grew their lead to 13 points entering the fourth quarter. Goshen's lone score in the quarter came on a touchdown pass by
Issac Hart to Brown.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 28-21 win for GHS.
Amelia (1-4) goes up against Norwood in a Southern Buckeye - American game matchup next week, while Goshen (4-1) locks horns with Western Brown also in a Southern Buckeye - American game.
