Football Recap: Salina Central Mustangs vs. South Cougars
Salina Central took care of business in their home opener on Friday (and then some). They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the South Cougars 55-13 at home. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Mustangs had established a 22 point advantage.
Jack Gordon went supernova for Salina Central, throwing for 251 yards and four touchdowns, while also rushing for 45 yards and a touchdown. The dominant performance gave Gordon a new career-high in rushing yards. Tate Gary did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 80 receiving yards.
Salina Central is taking a road trip to take on Arkansas City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Salina Central is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road dating back to last season. As for South, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Maize South at 7:00 p.m. South will come in still looking for their first win of the season.
