It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Atlantic Coast had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They skirted past the Creekside Knights 19-18. The Stingrays' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Atlantic Coast got a massive performance out of Emma Cano, who went 3-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI. That's the most hits Cano has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Stella Lynton, who went 3-for-6 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
The victory was the fourth in a row for Atlantic Coast, bringing their record up to 22-5. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 4.5 runs across that stretch. As for Creekside, they moved to 17-9 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
As of now, neither Atlantic Coast nor the Knights have any future games scheduled.
