Carlsbad proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by eight) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Torrey Pines Falcons. This was a revenge game for the Lancers: when they faced off against the Falcons back in April, they had to take a 6-4 defeat.
The team relied heavily on Chloe Hernandez, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Autumn Muro, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run.
Carlsbad is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-13 record this season. As for Torrey Pines, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-10.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Carlsbad is set to take on their familiar foe La Costa Canyon at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Torrey Pines will challenge rival Rancho Buena Vista at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
