Basketball Game Preview: Avon Grove Red Devils vs. East Vikings

Avon Grove hasn't had much luck against East recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Avon Grove Red Devils will host the East Vikings at 6:45 p.m.

Avon Grove is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Friday. They took a 66-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lancaster Mennonite. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 501st, while the Blazers are ranked 51st).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East). They breezed by Tacony Academy Charter to the tune of 70-33 on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

East's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-7. As for Avon Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Everything went Avon Grove's way against East in their previous meeting back in February, as Avon Grove made off with a 77-55 win. Will Avon Grove repeat their success, or does East have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
