Baseball Game Preview: Poca Dots vs. Webster County Highlanders

The Poca Dots will head out to challenge the Webster County Highlanders at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Poca is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

Poca came up short against Buffalo on Wednesday, falling 20-3.

Poca saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aaron Waugh, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI. That double was Waugh's first of the season.

Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Webster County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Greenbrier West 7-6. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Highlanders as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Poca's loss dropped their record down to 4-18. As for Webster County, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 5-9.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Poca has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game.
