Meanwhile, Bishop Machebeuf won against Estes Park on Saturday with four runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Buffaloes beat Lyons by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 4-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Buffaloes.
Jack Menke made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs. He has become a key player for Bishop Machebeuf: the team is 8-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-7 otherwise.
In other batting news, Miles Edgar was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.
Bishop Machebeuf now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Platte Canyon, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-13.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Platte Canyon has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Bishop Machebeuf struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
