Baseball Recap: Vanden Takes a Loss

Vanden was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 10-6 to the River City Raiders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vikings of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Kekoa Grinton and Ryan Cahalan did some serious damage despite the final result: Grinton scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3, while Cahalan scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Those two runs gave Cahalan a new career-high. Martin ? Lucky? Perez also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Even though they lost, Vanden was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as River City only posted a batting average of .227.

Vanden's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for River City, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

While Vanden had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
