Covenant Christian hadn't done well against Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Warriors had just enough and edged out the Braves 3-2. This was payback for the Warriors, who suffered a 3-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Covenant Christian had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-27, 17-25, 25-22, 25-17, 15-11.

Micah Manning paced Covenant Christian's offense, picking up 26 kills. Manning got some help from Josiah Swearingen and his 30 assists. Noah Cooper controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

When it comes to explaining why Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory lost, don't look at Mikey Millikan. Despite the final result, he had 24 digs and two aces. Judah Pace also deserves some recognition as he had his first dig of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Covenant Christian and bumps their season record up to 15-6. As for Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-9.

Covenant Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 win against Indianapolis Bishop Chatard on the 1st. As for Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Park Tudor on the 1st.
