Flag Football Recap: Ashlynn Merritt and Kindal Barstow Pace Hughson Defense + How To Watch

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Hughson's offense. They fell 6-0 to the Hilmar Yellowjackets on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 337th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 149th).

Hughson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ashlynn Merritt and Kindal Barstow.

This is the second loss in a row for Hughson and nudges their season record down to 10-9. As for Hilmar, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Hughson is set to challenge their familiar foe Ripon at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Hilmar will face off against rival Escalon at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
