Volleyball Recap: Saturday's Defeat Ends Willard's Winning Streak

After a string of five wins, Willard's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fayetteville Bulldogs.

Taylor Roweton paced Willard's offense, picking up six kills. Roweton got some help from Abby Morris and her seven assists. Ashlyn Hurd controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Fayetteville found their leader in sophomore Lyla Blagg, who had ten digs and six aces. Those six aces set a new season-high mark for Blagg. Riglee Thomas also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Willard's defeat dropped their record down to 14-6-2. As for Fayetteville, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-2.

Willard has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Parkview on the 30th. As for Fayetteville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Marshfield on the 27th.
