Basketball Recap: Kaleb Cole's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lawrenceburg over Conner

Lawrenceburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 59-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Conner Cougars. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2022.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kaleb Cole, who went 7-for-17 on his way to 21 points. That's the most points Cole has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was JP Izzo, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten rebounds.

Lawrenceburg now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Conner, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 18-7.

Looking ahead, Lawrenceburg will head out to square off against South Dearborn at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. South Dearborn has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 191 points over their last three contests. As for Conner, they have already played their next game, an 80-68 loss against Covington Catholic on the 18th.
