Baseball Recap: Fillmore Victorious

Fillmore proved they can win big on Monday (they won by ten) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Cuba-Rushford Rebels a 1-0 shutout. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since April 22nd.

The result came thanks to Damon Potter's shutout, as he gave up just seven hits and racked up 12 Ks.

At the plate, Fillmore's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jared Boon, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Fillmore's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Cuba-Rushford, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-7.
