Baseball Recap: Deep Run Comes Up Short

Deep Run suffered their closest loss since April 16, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of the Freeman Mavericks by a score of 5-3. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mavericks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Deep Run saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Henry Jennings, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Ben Arroyo also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Deep Run's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Freeman, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Deep Run will venture away from home to face off against Atlee at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Freeman, they will head out to square off against Prince George at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
