The Pender Patriots will head out on the road to face off against the Whiteville Wolfpack at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Pender is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.3 runs per game this season.

Pender fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Fairmont on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Golden Tornadoes by a score of 9-8. The Patriots' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Charleigh Rivenbark made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Haley Gantt, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-5.

Meanwhile, Whiteville came up short against East Columbus on Friday and fell 10-6. The Wolfpack have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Pender's record is now 10-4. As for Whiteville, their record now sits at 5-8.

Pender suffered a grim 13-3 defeat to Whiteville when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Patriots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
