Softball Recap: Fowler Snags Sixth Victory in Last Seven Games

Fowler barely beat Orange Cove the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Redcats blew past the Titans 19-1 on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Redcats also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Jaelyn Quintana tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single walk any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Izzy Lopez was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with five RBI and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Monis, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Fowler kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in seven consecutive matches.

Fowler has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Orange Cove, they moved to 6-7 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Fowler wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-0 victory against Ridgeview on the 12th. As for Orange Cove, they have also already played their next match, a 9-3 defeat against Reedley on the 12th.
