Baseball Recap: Aquinas Wins High-Profile Game Against Brophy College Prep

Aquinas is ranked highly in their home state and on Thursday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Brophy College Prep. The Falcons were the clear victors by a 12-5 margin over the Broncos. Considering the Falcons have won seven matchups by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Chase Davidson was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Max Lopez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Aquinas always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

Aquinas is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Brophy College Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 11-11-1.

Coming up, Aquinas is taking a road trip to face off against Arrowhead Christian at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. Brophy College Prep has already played their next contest (against Aquinas), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
