Baseball Game Preview: Pickerington Central Tigers vs. Logan Chieftains

The Pickerington Central Tigers will face off against the Logan Chieftains at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Pickerington Central will be strutting in after a victory while Logan will be coming in after a defeat.

Pickerington Central took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They came out on top against Reynoldsburg by a score of 4-1.

Cael Kogge spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 14 Ks. He has become a key player for Pickerington Central: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-5 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Colton Landtiser was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and one double. Cole Metz was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Logan's offense. They lost 6-0 to Teays Valley on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Chieftains' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Logan has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Pickerington Central, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.

Everything went Pickerington Central's way against Logan in their previous matchup on April 7th, as Pickerington Central made off with an 11-1 victory. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Chieftains turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
