Baseball Recap: Whitney Falls Short of Rodriguez in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Whitney can now relate to. They lost 13-6 to the Rodriguez Mustangs on Friday. The Wildcats' defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Whitney got a good showing from Zach Laduzinski, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Laduzinski has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bryce Farris was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Harris, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Whitney's loss dropped their record down to 17-12. As for Rodriguez, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season.

As of now, neither Whitney nor Rodriguez have any future games scheduled.
