Basketball Game Preview: Maple Grove Crimson vs. Champlin Park Rebels

The Maple Grove Crimson will challenge the Champlin Park Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Last Tuesday, Maple Grove made easy work of Centennial and carried off a 68-47 win. The Crimson have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Champlin Park humbled Elk River with a 91-56 victory. While fans of the Rebels might be used to big wins, the 35-point margin marked the team's biggest one yet.

Maple Grove pushed their record up to 4-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32 points. As for Champlin Park, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.

Maple Grove strolled past Champlin Park in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 by a score of 82-64. Will Maple Grove repeat their success, or does Champlin Park have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
