Soccer Recap: Picayune Comes Up Short

Picayune lost against West Jones back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Picayune Maroon Tide came up short against the West Jones Mustangs, falling 7-0. That's two games in a row now that the Maroon Tide have lost by exactly seven goals.

This is the second loss in a row for Picayune and nudges their season record down to 4-7. As for West Jones, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Picayune will take on Hattiesburg at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Picayune is facing Hattiesburg at the right time seeing as Hattiesburg is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for West Jones, they will face off against Pearl River Central at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Pearl River Central will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something West Jones surely won't give up without a fight.
