Football Game Preview: Asotin Panthers vs. Freeman Scotties + How To Watch

The Asotin Panthers are taking a road trip to square off against the Freeman Scotties at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Asotin is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 41 points two weeks ago, they were much more limited against Colfax on Friday. They were outmatched by the Bulldogs and fell 42-7.

Asotin's defeat came about despite a quality game from Cody Ells, who rushed for 104 yards and one touchdown on only 14 carries. Ells is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 104 every time he's taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, while Freeman put up some points on Saturday, the same can't be said for Northwest Christian School. The Scotties were the clear victors by a 21-0 margin over the Crusaders.

Asotin better keep an eye on Logan Schultz. He was instrumental in Freeman's win, throwing for 174 yards and a pair of TDs, while also rushing for 59 yards and one score. Schultz also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack and making four total tackles.

Asotin now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Freeman, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Asotin has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 204.3 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Freeman struggles in that department as they've been averaging 163.7 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Asotin skirted past Freeman 21-18 in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
