Soccer Game Preview: Ellicott vs. Rocky Mountain Lutheran

The Ellicott Thunderhawks will venture away from home to square off against the Rocky Mountain Lutheran Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ellicott will be strutting in after a win while Rocky Mountain Lutheran will be coming in after a loss.

Ellicott took a five-goal defeat the last time they faced off against DSST: Cedar, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Thunderhawks narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Falcons 3-2.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Rocky Mountain Lutheran's offense. They fell 2-0 to Lotus School For Excellence on Thursday.

Ellicott's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Rocky Mountain Lutheran, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4-1 record this season.

Ellicott came out on top in a nail-biter against Rocky Mountain Lutheran in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thunderhawks since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
