Volleyball Recap: Crested Butte Comes Up Short

Crested Butte lost against Telluride back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Titans fell just short of the Miners by a score of 3-2. The Titans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Crested Butte took Telluride into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-8, 25-21, 23-25, 15-11.

Mia O'Neil paced Crested Butte's offense, picking up 21 kills. O'Neil got some help from Mylee Clifton and her 14 assists. Maryn Pritchett controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Ford Fenton had an outrageously good game for Telluride as she had 15 digs and three aces. Fenton has been hot, having posted 12 or more digs the last five times she's played.

Crested Butte's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Telluride, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.

Crested Butte didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Custer County on the 2nd. As for Telluride, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Ignacio on the 27th.
