Football Game Preview: Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Ravens vs. Glens Falls Black Bears

Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk hasn't had much luck against Glens Falls recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Ravens will head out to take on the Black Bears at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk was handed a heart-breaking two-point loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Green Tech on Friday. The Ravens simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Eagles 58-8. The game marked the Ravens' most dominant win of the season so far.

Mason Carkner continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 88 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only nine carries, while also throwing for 137 yards and three TDs. That's the most passing touchdowns he has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Lee Kittle, who rushed for 58 yards and a pair of scores on only six carries.

Meanwhile, Glens Falls put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 48-7 victory over Scotia-Glenville. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Black Bears' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 74th, while the Tartans are ranked 432nd).

Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk's record now sits at 4-1. As for Glens Falls, their record is now 5-0.

Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk came up short against Glens Falls in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, falling 20-14. Can the Ravens avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
