Basketball Recap: Summit Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Summit Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Valor Preparatory Academy Knights and fell 93-19. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 60-15.

Valor Preparatory Academy found their leader in sophomore Connor McFarling, who went 11 of 14 en route to 24 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. McFarling has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Bennett Herman was another key player, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.

Summit Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Valor Preparatory Academy, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Summit Christian Academy will welcome Holy Trinity Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Summit Christian Academy is facing Holy Trinity Catholic at the right time seeing as Holy Trinity Catholic is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Valor Preparatory Academy, they will square off against Austin Waldorf at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Valor Preparatory Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57 points per game this season.
