Basketball Recap: James Osborne's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Key West over Somerset Academy (Silver Palms)

Key West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 72-66 heartbreaker at the hands of the Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) Stallions. The Conchs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Stallions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

Key West lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was James Osborne, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Means, who shot 45% from the field to rack up 17 points.

Key West's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Somerset Academy (Silver Palms), the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Key West will be playing in front of their home fans against NSU University at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Somerset Academy (Silver Palms), they are taking a road trip to face off against Ransom Everglades at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
