Basketball Recap: Cypress Lakes Gets Big Victory over Higher-Ranked Cypress Park

Cypress Lakes's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cypress Park Tigers, sneaking past 56-54. The win was all the more spectacular given the Spartans' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 434th, while the Tigers are ranked 169th).

Cypress Lakes now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Cypress Park, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-10.

Cypress Lakes is taking a road trip to square off against Waller at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cypress Lakes is facing Waller at the right time seeing as Waller is stuck on a 20-game losing streak. As for Cypress Park, they will welcome Cypress Ranch at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cypress Ranch will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Cypress Park surely won't give up without a fight.
