Basketball Game Preview: Hiland Hawks vs. Lexington Minutemen

The Hiland Hawks will venture away from home to challenge the Lexington Minutemen at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Hiland is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Last Tuesday, Hiland humbled West Holmes with a 59-19 victory. The Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Lexington slipped by Ashland 59-58 on Friday. Given the Minutemen's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 71st, while the Arrows are ranked 267th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lexington is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. As for Hiland, their win bumped their record up to 19-1.

Hiland came up short against Lexington in their previous matchup back in November of 2015, falling 77-69. Can Hiland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
