Softball Recap: Morton/White Pass Takes a Loss

Morton/White Pass lost against White Swan on Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Timberwolves took a 26-23 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (12), the Timberwolves still had to take the loss.

Alyssa Kampa led a balanced group of hitters, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Mieka Blake was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

This is the second loss in a row for Morton/White Pass and nudges their season record down to 5-3. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.5 runs over those games. As for White Swan, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-6.

Coming up, Morton/White Pass is taking a road trip to face off against Raymond/South Bend at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Ravens will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Timberwolves surely won't give up without a fight. As for White Swan, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Cle Elum-Roslyn at 11:00 a.m. on the 19th.
