Basketball Recap: Colleton County Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Micheal Witkin and Jaqueas Martin

Fans were treated to a battle of the Cougars on Friday. Colleton County lost 72-51 to North Charleston. Colleton County just can't catch a break and has now endured seven losses in a row dating back to last season.

Colleton County's loss came despite strong showings from Jaqueas Martin and Micheal Witkin. Martin went 6-for-11 to rack up 15 points, while Witkin posted 11 points and three steals.

Brian Washington Jr. was nothing short of spectacular for North Charleston: he shot 43% from the field on his way to 17 points in addition to five assists and four steals. Another player making a difference was Anthony Porter, who went 5-for-8 en route to 11 points and seven rebounds.

Colleton County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for North Charleston, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Colleton County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 64-21 victory against Lowcountry Leadership on the 29th. As for North Charleston, they have also already played their next game, a 65-61 loss against Baptist Hill on the 29th.
