Softball Recap: Georgetown Bulldogs vs. Loris Lions
If Georgetown was feeling good fresh off their 13-5 takedown of Marlboro County last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs came up short against the Loris Lions on Thursday, falling 10-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-7 back in March.
Georgetown got a good showing from Ella Cissa, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Cissa has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Noa Kate Morris made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Harper Moore, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Georgetown's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Loris, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7-1.
Looking ahead, Georgetown will take on Carvers Bay at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Loris, they will challenge Warren East at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
