The Quincy Trojans will take on the Hamilton Braves at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Quincy lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Chester, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's matchup. Quincy was the clear victor by a 23-7 margin over Chester on Tuesday. While the Trojans didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Jake Thackeray made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs, nine RBI, and four runs while going 3-for-4. Those nine RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Quincy got a massive performance out of Nathan Schmid, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs Schmid has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Noah Wade, who scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Quincy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Hamilton came tearing into Thursday's game with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Lions a 10-0 shutout. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Braves considering their two-run performance the contest before.
Dylan Joksch made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Joksch was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
In other batting news, Daniel Leal was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Hayden Boles was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base.
Quincy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. Hamilton's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3.
Hamilton's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Quincy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .354. It's a different story for Hamilton, though, as they've only averaged .235. Will they be able to contain Quincy's hitters?
Everything went Quincy's way against Hamilton in their previous meeting back in May of 2022, as Quincy made off with an 11-1 victory. Will Quincy repeat their success, or does Hamilton has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
