Baseball Recap: Proviso West Comes Up Short

Proviso West lost against Downers Grove North back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Panthers lost 17-2 to the Trojans. That's two games in a row now that the Panthers have lost by exactly 15 runs.

Demarco Alvarado made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Andres Silva was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Proviso West dropped their record down to 3-6 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Downers Grove North, the victory was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-1.

While Proviso West had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
