Aragon (San Mateo, Calif.) jumped out to an early lead against Capuchino (San Bruno, Calif.) and never looked back on the way to a 42-7 victory on Saturday.
The Dons scored 20 points in the first quarter. Aragon scored on a kick return touchdown by
J.d. Elzie, a touchdown, a touchdown pass by
Nathaniel Blood to Severson, a touchdown, a Elzie touchdown run and a touchdown.
After taking the lead on a kick return touchdown by Elzie in the first quarter, AHS led 35-7 at the half.
The San Mateo school expanded its lead to 35 points entering the fourth quarter. The Dons scored once in the quarter on a Blood touchdown pass to
Brandon Gordon.
Blood was the top performer for Aragon. The junior quarterback threw three touchdowns.
Justin Ewing played well for the Mustangs. The senior running back ran for one touchdown. He has now scored eight touchdowns on the season.
Capuchino's lone touchdown came on a 36-yard run by Ewing in the second quarter.
AHS also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 24-0.
With the win the Dons extended their winning streak to four games.
In a Peninsula - Bay game next week Aragon (4-0) takes on Menlo-Atherton, and Capuchino (1-4) will go up against El Camino in a Peninsula - Lake game.
