Preview: Owatonna Huskies vs. Mayo Spartans
Owatonna is 0-10 against Mayo since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Owatonna Huskies will look to defend their home court against the Mayo Spartans at 7:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.
Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Owatonna beat Faribault 43-38.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Owatonna to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carsyn Brady, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Morgan Fisher was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Mayo put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Winona 78-51 at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Mayo has posted since December 1, 2023.
The win got Owatonna back to even at 8-8. As for Mayo, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.
