Football Recap: Prince George Takes a Loss

Prince George played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 35-7 defeat at the hands of the Thomas Dale Knights. The Royals have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Prince George lost, don't look at Lawrence Hewlett Jr.. Despite the final result, he threw for 120 yards and one touchdown on only ten passes, and also rushed for 40 yards.

Thomas Dale found their leader in sophomore Cole Leinberger, who forced one fumble and made ten total tackles (5.0 for loss). Wyatt Jessup also set a new season-high mark in passing yards with 327. Thomas Dale's leading receiver Daniel Lewis was Jessup's top target yet again, picking up 112 receiving yards and one score.

Prince George's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Thomas Dale, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
